Homeschool Programs Announced for Fall 2019

NEW! Now choose between three tracks to provide a semester worth of play and learning for your students. One-time registration fee covers one class each month, September–December, 2019. Price includes all day admission and interactive programming in a classroom setting with our skilled educators. Each month will include a pre and post lesson building upon material covered during museum programming. New extended learning track provides time for families to learn together through open-ended experiences.

Dates and themes for 2019 Fall Homeschool Program:

Track One: Life Sciences

September 10, October 8, November 12, December 10

Age groups: 3-4, 5-6, or 7-8* age as of September 1, 2019

Living organisms make up our world – from microorganisms to human begins! Our preschool session will focus on a different organism each month. Our older scientists will explore how organisms function and interact with our environment.

Track Two: Earth Sciences

Age groups: 3-4, 5-6, or 7-8* age as of September 1, 2019

From rocks and craters to oceans and raindrops, our Earth Science track will help student scientists explore all of the wonderful characteristics that makes our planet unique. All age groups will explore the physical characteristics of our Earth through hands-on activities with real materials.

NEW! Track Three: Extended Learning Experience- Family Science Days

September 4, October 2, November 6, December 4
1:30–3:00pm
Age groups: 3-4, 5-8* age as of September 1, 2019

This hour-and-a-half science session will encourage collaboration between children and families. Each month, an introductory lesson and prompt will encourage our young learners to explore science concepts by working together. This multi-age and longer session will encourage teamwork while using engineering design processes and scientific skills. Identify problems and develop solutions. Make predictions and learn to be observant. Enjoy learning together!
