The Children’s Museum of the Upstate-Greenville is excited to announce the renovation of its Prisma Health Children’s Hospital–Your Healthy Body exhibit! The exhibit will open to the public with special programming on Saturday, March 12th.
The Prisma Health Children’s Hospital–Your Healthy Body exhibit features an expansive anatomy center with large, three-dimensional organs, including the heart, brain, lungs and stomach. Families are invited to walk through, and interact with these organs, each sitting at approximately 9 feet tall and 8-10 feet wide!
The exhibit also includes a model ambulance, alongside areas for children to learn and pretend they are medical professionals, with activities ranging from examining their teddy-bear patients to scrubbing in like physicians do for surgery. The exhibit also features a rock-climbing wall and prompts to encourage physical activity.
The exhibit was designed with the goal of introducing children and their caregivers to healthcare and healthy habits, in a child-friendly, engaging and positive way. Children will also experience a healthcare environment in a stress-free space in the hopes of reducing anxiety should they experience clinic settings in real life.
