TCMU-Spartanburg is designed for children ages 6 and under. Advance timed-entry ticketing is recommended to visit TCMU-Spartanburg. The length of your visit will not be timed. Only ticket-holders and members are guaranteed entry.

Active and retired military members are eligible for discounted military tickets for up to 5 family members. Please select the "Military" ticket type at check-out. Valid Military ID required at museum admissions.

  • ACCESS FOR ALL
    TCMU offers various opportunities for need-based reduced admission. The museum is an active participant in Museums For All, a signature access program administered by the Association of Children’s Museums. EBT card holders can visit both TCMU locations for $3 per person. Exclusions apply and you can read more here. Additionally, TCMU offers scholarship funded school field trips on a first come, first serve basis. Please call 864-553-7952 for more information.
  • SPARTANBURG PARKING
    Free two-hour street parking is available on Magnolia Street. The Magnolia Street public parking garage is located across the street from the museum. Parking in the garage costs $0.50 per hour with a maximum of $4.00 during weekdays. Parking in the garage is free on weekends.

UPPER LEVEL

  1. Palmetto Basics Toddler Zone: designed for children ages 18 months and under, this hands-on exhibit directs parents to engage their children using Palmetto Basics elements.
  2. Market: teaches healthy lifestyle choices and incorporates the entire farm-to-table process through collaborative pretend play.
  3. Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System: child-scaled hospital allows children to play the role of doctor, patient, or caregiver through imaginative pretend play.
  4. Duke Energy Treehouse: introduces visitors to South Carolina’s native species in a multi-level treehouse and miniature orchard.

LOWER LEVEL

  1. steamWORKS Jr. Classroom
  2. Go GoSpartanburg: explores the local city and all its forms of transportation through imaginative play, also featuring an area for children 18 months and under only.
  3. Spartanburg Rising: features a variety of free block play inspire our guests to become architects, engineers and members of a construction crew.
  4. Spartanburg Water Table: explores Spartanburg’s rivers and the critical role water plays in our community, with splashing, squirting, and pumping.
